Is It Your First Time Visiting Love and Treasure?

I can’t even express how happy I am that you’re here— on the door that leads to my heart.

Can I ask you a favor though?

Open up your heart. You’ll enjoy the experience more that way.

My name is Haydee Montemayor and I’ll be your hostess.

This is probably the blog that you will NOT want to read. Not because it’s that bad (at least, I don’t think so), but because it talks about love in it’s full scope… not just through rose-color glasses.

This blog is full of purposeful questions and topics that can transform your life, if you are willing to be more in touch with your feelings.

Many times, you’re going to be tempted to leave this site because you’re scared of listening to your heart.

You’re too busy, you tell yourself.

But if you’re sick and tired of living life like it’s never going to end (in other words, you’re taking it for granted), but deep down mortified much more than you can admit, that life will end without you being able to express to your loved ones just how much you love them, then stay here.

And if I press one of your buttons and you’re about to leave, tell yourself, uh, uh, uh… STAY! It’s for your own good.

Why?

Because you can either leave and continue doing what you’re doing which is obvvvvviously making you feel empty, ORRRR you can meet your most loving parts of yourself, once and for all.

Yep, even if you’ve been hurt by love at some point.

In my mind, following your heart isn’t the problem, it’s following everything else that is.

What Is “Love And Treasure?”

This is a revolution disguised as a blog.

The revolution to make love relevant again. Personally and globally.

Think of an involution.

It’s giving ourselves permission to let love lead.

We must first go inside ourselves if we eeeeevvver wish to make any significant impact on the outside.

Because making an impact on the outside world, without first genuinely making an impact inside ourselves, feels more empty than you may already be feeling.

Who Is Invited To Be Part of The Revolution?

People who are not willing to be defeated by the lack of love.

People who know that love might be hard, but living without love is meaningless.

People who believe more in love as time goes on, not less.

Are we the perfect people, with perfect romantic relationships, perfect families, perfect friendships, perfect interactions with society?

NOT AT ALL!!!

Trust me, not-at-all.

We’re the brokenhearted, who can look at love and yell, “I’m not giving up on you, Love.”

We’re the ones who would rather love and lose, than not love, because we know that by choosing not to love those who most deserve our love WE are the ones losing out.

In sum, it’s for people who have an unwavering faith for the power of love.

We’re the ones who see that the cracks in our heart due to past hurts, are simply there to let a little more light in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because I know that talking about sensitive topics such as love and past hurts may be uncomfortable if you don’t know who you’re talking to and who is doing the talking, I’ve compiled a list of questions that you may not even know you have yet, but will give you more peace of mind.

Why did you start blogging?

My mission is to help you love your life by asking yourself the important life and love questions that make it possible.

I believe that it is important for us to make the heart the CEO of our life.

It is vital to let love lead.

When did you start blogging?

I started my blog in July 2013.

I had a deep urge to be of service.

Plus, writing for me has always been very cathartic and I particularly needed to write at that time in my life.

At the time that I started my blog, I was looking for a job that would allow me to be home with my son in order to not miss any of his firsts.

I also wanted to work from my home office, the one with the word “DREAM” written on it because I always knew that someday I would work from here.

Plus, I wanted to work wearing my pajamas and fuzzy socks and take as many breaks needed to be with my son without feeling guilty.

This is my way of showing my son that you can and you should do what you’re meant to do and what you love.

Do you have any advice for someone wanting to blog from home? Or start a business from home?

As the Nike slogan says, “Just do it!”

Do not wait for you to:

  • get a terminal illness
  • have an accident
  • get fired
  • lose someone special
  • take one more class
  • read one more book
  • feel expert enough
  • learn Code…

…. in order to feel inspired to fulfill your dreams.

You don’t need negative life events or worries to move  you forward.

Don’t wait for anyone’s permission or any life-can-end-any-minute excuse to do what you want to do in life.

Don’t be pushed by life. Show life who is boss and pull life to exactly the spot you want.

Put a stick in the ground and determine that from this point forward, you are walking toward your dreams.

You were born to do your thing. That’s what was written on the invitation to LIVE. To L-I-V-E!!!

Not to suffer, not to put yourself last, not to comply with everybody’s agenda’s except yours, but rather to show up and say, THIS is the positive way in which I’ll make living worth it.

Listen to your heart, it’ll lead the way.

Dedication

This site is dedicated to my son and to my grandmother.

Ever since my son was born, I would tell him, “you are my love and treasure.” That was my inspiration for naming the blog what I did.

Since it had already been 10 years, since my grandmother’s passing, it later dawned on me that she called me “my little love and “my treasure.” Why? Because despite the fact that she had 80+ grandchildren, she saw enough in me to be her favorite. I’m still humbled by that kind of love.

I am blessed to be loved and love both my grandmother and my son unconditionally.
